Meet Jana
Physiotherapist, concussion recovery specialist, and the guide she wished she'd had during her own healing.
With advanced training in concussion management and the lived experience of three concussions, Jana created Concussion Healing Space to bridge the gap between clinical knowledge and compassionate, accessible support.
My Story
I know what it feels like to have your world turned upside down by a concussion — the confusion, the frustration, the isolation. I've been there. Three times.
My path to concussion recovery work didn't begin in a clinic — it began as a patient. After experiencing three separate concussions, I developed an intimate understanding of what it truly means to navigate the uncertainty, fear, and daily challenges that come with a brain injury.
As a physiotherapist with advanced training in concussion management, I bring a perspective that few clinicians can offer. I don't just understand the science behind your symptoms — I've lived the reality of managing them while trying to maintain work, relationships, and hope for recovery.
During my own recovery, I realized something was fundamentally missing. The information available was either too clinical to be actionable or too vague to be truly helpful. I searched for a guide — someone who could explain what was happening in my brain in plain language, provide clear next steps, and simply reassure me: "This is normal. And it does get better."
I couldn't find that resource. So I built it.
Today, through Concussion Healing Space, I work with individuals at every stage of recovery — from the first days after injury to months or years of persistent symptoms. Whether through personalized consultations, structured courses, or free educational resources, my mission remains the same: to provide the clarity, structure, and compassion that every person with a concussion deserves.
My Approach
Concussion recovery is not linear, and it is not one-size-fits-all. Every person's brain, symptoms, and circumstances are unique.
Trauma-Informed
Reducing overwhelm and supporting emotional safety at every step. Recovery should never feel more stressful than the injury itself.
Education-Forward
Helping you understand what's happening in your brain. When you understand your symptoms, recovery feels less frightening and more manageable.
Structured
Providing step-by-step pathways for acute and persistent symptoms. Clear direction replaces confusion with confidence.
Supportive
Meeting you where you are with empathy and guidance. You don't have to navigate this alone, and you don't have to have it all figured out.
